C a t h e t e r A b l a t i o n This minimally invasive technique is used to correct certain types of heart arrhythmias by changing an incorrect electrical pathway in the heart. It involves passing specially designed catheters through a major leg vein or a vein close to the clavicle bone into the heart. This procedure is usually carried out under local anesthesia and mild sedation. These procedures are considered a standard treatment in Germany.
