Modern, High-Tech Building at Asklepios Heart, Vascular and Diabetes Center opens its doors
Patients seeking medical treatment for cardiac arrhythmia or vascular disease have a brand, new, high-tech option at the German Asklepios Clinic in Hamburg-St. Georg. The new construction, which is an extension of the Heart, Vascular and Diabetes Center previously built in 2009, features a separate building with a state-of-the-art electrophysiology lab, an angiography area, rotor mapping and ablation systems and the latest equipment for three-dimensional, high-resolution imaging. The two-storey building, located directly on the St. Georg hospital campus, took one year to complete. The construction budget of approximately six million euros was completely financed by the Asklepios clinic group.
The team of cardiology, neuroradiology, and vascular specialists and thousands of patients in northern Germany and beyond can now benefit from the improved, high-precision diagnostic and treatment possibilities this multi-million-euro medical facility offers to the Hamburg and international community. In fact, along with the new building, Asklepios has attracted even more highly-qualified and renowned medical specialists to its team. “With this new construction and installation of innovative equipment for diagnosing and treating cases of cardiac arrhythmia, stroke, and vascular disease, our specialists can examine and provide treatment for their patients at a world-class level,” says Dr. Thomas Wolfram, Chief Executive Officer and spokesman for the Asklepios Kliniken Hamburg GmbH.
This new building will support the continued work of reputable doctors at Asklepios St. Georg like Dr. Karl-Heinz Kuck (cardiology), Dr. Sigrid Nikol (angiology) and Dr. Harold Paukish.
